Epiphany - Nonfiction Version - related excerpt

In this blog, my spouse brought it to my attention that our first-born daughter was feeling down. She is an incredible artist. While I used to draw, I cannot do anything close to what she can.

Corrina is a professional artist. She set up her own enterprise and sold her drawings online. At one time, she could not keep pace with the new orders coming in...sound familiar to my WP Blog?

I still have around 1,000 reader comment left to moderate, and a 300 page document of every conversations-reader comments and my replies, that I have recorded so far.

IT IS A TREASURE CHEST OF UNSOLICITED READER TESTIMONY

I have been wanting my daughter to get involved in this talent network, but she has been reluctant.

My youngest daughter plays guitar and sings. You will see plenty of her. Her boyfriend of two plus years is my apprentice. You will also see much of Dominick Purvis, or Dom, in our books.

While I was blessed with artistic abilities that virtually defines the very word, I am currently focused on writing. I have discovered something of great value that I need to share with the entire world.

It is the blueprint to a healthier, happier life. Whatever happened to me on that fateful night remains unexplained. The most curious thing is that I am okay with not knowing. My curiosity is a central part of my nature. At one time, I would have freaked out, but I was at peace right from the start.

On May 4th, 2004 at 2:00 AM, a sudden wave of energy jolted me awake from a deep sleep. As I sat there watching my hands tremble, I was compelled to go down to my office and open up a word document. From that point, I have been diligently working to learn my craft and writing incessantly.

As a result, I have accumulated quite an impressive library of fresh, original material.  From screen and stage plays to self-help books, and everything in between (with a focus on travel writing and photography).

I am certain that I have something that will interest you, no matter what genre, budget, or arena you in, I think you will be impressed by the array of material available to you within three to four weeks.

To test the waters, I submitted one query for a screenplay titled, "The Meek" and gained representation on my first attempt.  The same was true when I submitted a book proposal for a self improvement book called,"Free Spirit Fitness."

I have allowed both contracts to expire because I decided that I can go about breaking into this business in a different way than the traditional methods.  My motto became:

 "I don't want to sell you one book, article or screenplay, I want to sell you one book, screen play or article after another." 

So, having the luxury of time and resources, I thought it wise to expand my employer's presence on the internet. I would create a series of sites and connect them under the hub website owned by Komet Enterprises.

A subsidiary site, "KoMeT KrEAtiONs TaLenT AgENcY",iNc." will soon be taking applications for editors, copyrighters, and assistants.

We are looking to add to out talent and when we are finally published in April, we will accept manuscripts from writers or samples of artistic talent for membership and representation. 

I am anxious to get things running, but patience has served me well so far, so, it won't be much longer.  In the meantime, you will see my material being published. 

I am very certain you will find my work  original, genuine, and salable.

Since my epiphany resulted in this strange new insight, I began a comprehensive research on my children.

I invested into a 4-camera surveillance system and installed it all around my home...I could observe their interactions completely covert...It has left me with lasting benefits.

I will share this email I just sent to my daughter. It represents how I reinforce a child to use their power of thought.

Mom told me how you were feeling and why. I think I know why you are upset. Here is my theory.

I think the first thing to consider is physiological. The largest culprit in how you feel is sharp changes in hormone levels. It also mimics PMS symptoms you have had in the past. You may also be approaching menses.

But, I think the heart of your problem is in your head and heart. Your heart broke when client traffic slowed down.

I am always talking about how I write with love. I sent it out as love, and subsequently, it rained back down on me. I reaped what I sowed, and in much greater measure.

I know that you share that philosophy with me. You draw with love. You quickly lose confidence without giving rationality a fair chance.

Your mind is your worst enemy at this moment. Until your thoughts change, your mood will remain sour. This negativity is hard at work suppressing your memory. That is why it so harmful.

Now, take a different position on this issue that opposes your current thinking. Start by remembering when you could not keep pace with the orders placed by those who would strongly disagree with you about your skills.

You qualify, by definition, as a professional artist. You are active among the creative industry.

I have a free-spirit philosophy that would fit you so well if you just heard it out.

To the best of my ability, I remember never to care what others think. I accept who I am is the result of the decisions I have made and everything that has happened up until now has brought me here.

I take responsibility for the things I regret, but cannot go back and change them. I click [DELETE] and purge the TRASH BIN.

I begin my journey back to composure and contentment by forcing myself to smile. I count back from 60 and, as I do, I try to feel happy.

That is easier than you think. Look around. You have seen how the Third-World lives and know the suffering that happens around the world every second.

Be thankful we have a home. We have a variety of plentiful food and drink choices. We have a peaceful home and a family unit who truly loves one another.

Be thankful for Milo, Lucy, and Frankie. Be thankful that we are parents who offer you our love unconditionally.

I know how you can get all of the traffic you want. I know people who write, sing, play instruments, and creates amazing art.

They all are natural writers when they take a notion to write.

You set up that whole enterprise to sell your art online as a minor. You succeeded in so many ways, how can you justify doubt?

Honey, it is easy. Be patient and believe that you have something of value to offer…the fact that you have sold one  is sufficient evidence of that.

The fact that you went through a time when you could not keep pace with your orders is very conclusive evidence of that.

The fact that Dom came to you, and I wasn’t being a kind father when I wanted you to draw something for me and teach me how to use photoshop like you.

I remember mowing the yard on my lawn tractor set in a slower gear, just to practice patience. Keep sending out love and it will not fail you.

It would mean everything to me if you involved your mind on what your mother and I are doing for the welfare of the family. You and Kyrsten can both contribute to are success as a family unit.

It doesn’t matter how you join us, so long as we are together. We are all using the gifts we were given toward one common goal.

How can that be a bad thing for a family? We prosper together and have strong bonds over something major we did together. These are things we remember forever.

I love you, honey. I accept you for the person you are. I approve of the person you have become, and I offer you my love without condition.

Follow Kyrsten’s example and come and talk to me more frequently. I might have something worthy of listening to, if you ask…
